To continue raising funds to build the first housing and adult community for the deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind and late-deafended, the NJ Deaf Senior Housing organization (NJDSH) will host its fifth annual Fashion Show and Gift Basket Auction on Saturday, October 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa, Long Branch, NJ. Hosted by Donna DiMarco and Nico DiMarco, the mom and brother of Nyle DiMarco, the winner of both America’s Next Top Model cycle 22 and Dancing with the Stars season 22. The event will bring together the deaf community and residents to a fabulous runway fashion show. Tickets are still available and cost $75. Space is limited. Attendees will be able to watch the fashion through the decades, from 1920s to the 2000s, worn by 20 deaf adult and child models. All the clothes are donated by local clothing stores, including, Somewhere In Time (Highland Park) and The Children’s Place. A three-course luncheon menu will be served with four entrée choices (London broil with caramelized onion sauce, chicken stuffed with spinach and feta cheese, Atlantic salmon with herb champagne sauce, and Mediterranean couscous pure over Thai purple rice, grilled asparagus and roasted pepper coulis. A premium cash bar will also be available.
