The 12th annual Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial 3.5-mile run and two-mile walk returns to PNC Bank Arts Center on Sunday, November 12, 2017 (rain or shine). Registrations open at 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. Ceremonies begin at 8:50 a.m. with the National Anthem to be sung by the RockNRoll Chorus. All active duty military and veterans are honored at this time.

Once again, the run will be led by the West Point Swim Team from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The 3.5 mile run or two-mile walk begins at 10:00 a.m. Both the run and the walk end at the beautiful New Jersey Gold Star Family Monument.  Participants are asked to stop and view this new monument and reflect on the sacrifice of our troops from New Jersey that have given their life for our freedom. Awards will be given to the top three men and top three women finishers.

The event is held in honor and memory of Army Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II. Lt. Zilinski was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Company B of the 101st Airborne Division. Lt. Zilinski was deployed to Iraq where he was killed in action on November 19, 2005. Lt. Zilinski graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 2000 and The United States Military Academy at West Point in 2004.
