Former Fox Business Host, ABC 20/20 Reporter, and 19-time Emmy Award Winner John Stossel will partake in a discussion on current economic topics on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Navesink Country Club in Middletown. The evening is part of the New Jersey Council for Economic Education’s commitment to investing in our children’s futures through economic and financial education. The goal of the nonprofit is to ensure all students graduate with the skills necessary to practice financial responsibility. By providing training programs and learning resources to educators and students throughout the state, the New Jersey Council for Economic Education provides K-12 students with a real-world understanding of how to build fruitful and responsible lives. Stakeholders possess a strong belief that financial literacy and economic education materially change the way young people see the world and their roles in our society. Economic education and financial literacy go beyond managing one’s credit card debt, buying a home, or saving for retirement. Economics illuminates all facets of our society, whether in the marketplace, the workforce, the voting booth, or at home. The group feels it is more important than ever that our young people are anchored in a sound understanding of the choices before them. The evening will begin with a 6:30 p.m. cocktail reception followed by an hour-long discussion and Q&A period. Gene Epstein, the Barrons Magazine Economics Editor, will lead the discussion.
