The public is invited to attend a meeting to discuss the Monmouth County Joint Land Use Study for Naval Weapons Station Earle on Thursday, December 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Poricy Park Nature Center at 345 Oak Hill Road.
“This study is important to many residents of Monmouth County, as it affects 13 of our municipalities,” said Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry. “I encourage our residents to attend this meeting to learn about the study and have their voices heard.”
The meeting is being held to seek citizen input and brief stakeholders on the purpose, planning process and study recommendations. The public is invited to review the recommendations on the Monmouth County website, www.VisitMonmouth.com, and bring comments and questions to the meeting.
This study has analyzed existing conditions, climate resiliency needs and interactions between Naval Weapons Station Earle and surrounding communities which has led to the development of a set of recommendations.
Written comments on this draft study can be submitted to the County Division of Planning through Thursday, December 14.
The Joint Land Use Study is a cooperative planning effort between the County of Monmouth and Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle. Earle falls within five municipalities: Colts Neck, Howell, Middletown, Tinton Falls and Wall. There are 8 additional municipalities considered within the Military Influence Area: Atlantic Highlands, Highlands, Eatontown, Farmingdale, Freehold Township, Keansburg, Neptune, and Ocean.
