In advance of the official opening of the “Springsteen: His Hometown” exhibition, the Monmouth County Historical Association (MCHA) will host “Dancing in the Dark”, a preview party on Saturday, September 28 at 6 p.m. at MCHA in Freehold, NJ. Tickets will be available on Tuesday, August 6 at 10 a.m. by visiting here. Proceeds from the event will benefit the mission of MCHA to preserve and celebrate the history of Monmouth County for all.
Attendees will have a first look at the “Springsteen: His Hometown” exhibit with special performances from Bobby Bandiera and Joe Grushecky & the Houserockers. Freehold’s On Location Catering by Metropolitan Cafe will provide a variety of food and libations throughout the evening. The casual tented-party will include an auction with rare memorabilia and entertainment items. Brian Williams, veteran MSNBC and NBC news anchor and native of Middletown, NJ, will serve as Honorary Chair of the event.
“Springsteen: His Hometown” is an historical exhibit that will provide a comprehensive look of how Monmouth County, NJ has been thematically woven into Bruce Springsteen’s music and art throughout his career. Displaying over 150 unique items featuring selections from both the Monmouth County Historical Association and The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University, the exhibition will officially open on September 29 and run through Fall 2020.
“This evening will not only celebrate the opening of the ‘Springsteen: His Hometown’ exhibition, but also the centennial of Freehold Borough,” said Linda W. Bricker, President of the MCHA Board of Trustees. “We look forward to a memorable evening.”
