The Monmouth County Historical Association (MCHA) is hosting its 119th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Two River Theater, located at 21 Bridge Avenue in Red Bank.
Author and historian Rick Geffken will discuss his book, Lost Amusement Parks of the North Jersey Shore, co-authored with George Severini, focusing on the bygone amusement parks of the Atlantic Highlands, the Highlands, and Sea Bright. All are invited to come and learn how the Jersey Shore became the most famous vacation and recreational destination in the coastal United States. Books will be available for purchase after the lecture.
Free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The program will begin at 7:00 pm with a brief business meeting, including the election of trustees, and will be followed by Mr. Geffken’s remarks. Light refreshments will be served.
In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be held on January 30, 2018. All other details will remain the same.
