This event is Kimisis Philoptochos Society’s largest fundraising event of the year. The Society is the womens organization of the Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church of Holmdel, N.J.
The Ladies Philoptochos Society is a duly accredited national women’s philanthropic organization of the Greek Orthodox Church. The word “Philoptochos” is Greek and translates to “Friends of the Poor.” We aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry and the widowed through our fundraising efforts. We respond to war and national disasters as well as donate to food and blood banks in our local area. In addition, we support various charities such as Ronald McDonald House, the Salvation Army and several children’s hospitals.
