He’s a man who expresses gratitude freely and enjoys the fruits that his hard labor has won. Jack Howley is President of Howley Financial Group. Hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude have enabled Jack to build a successful business. Jack, his wife Iwona, and his daughters live in Rumson. Meet your neighbor, the ever-optimistic Jack Howley.
My Business: Howley Financial Group, LLC which is a part of the Northeast Planning Corporation Network.
I started my business: 1986
Who I help in one sentence: People who want to achieve financial freedom.
What my business achieves: Clients’ goals of meeting their wealth creation and protection objectives.
What sets me apart from others doing what I do: I have created a unique macroeconomic approach focusing on the “process and strategies” rather than products.
Why I started my business: I always wanted to be an entrepreneur and control my own destiny. I have learned a lot from my clients, many of whom are small business owners or closely held corporations.
The most rewarding part of my career: Knowing that my clients’ financial lives are much better as a result of my professional guidance.
My next goal: Opening an office in Naples, Florida to develop a new clientele there, as well as better service to the snowbirds from our area.
My favorite part of what I do: It gives me great satisfaction to meet with my long-standing clients. As they approach retirement, we look back and review all of my financial recommendations over the years and as a result, their life will be great.
My best business tip to share: Enjoy each and every person, in that they all have unique needs and create a special experience. Focus on meeting their unique objectives.
The person who has most influenced my career: The person who brought me into this great business 35 years ago: the late, great, Al Ferrara. I think of him every day. He was a great mentor to me, both professionally and personally.
My hobbies outside of work: I love to socialize, spend time with my family, run, spend time at the beach, travel, and watch Notre Dame Football.
Organizations to which I belong: I am the Bergen Catholic High School class chairman. I also serve on the Board of Trustees of The Charles Edison Fund and The Edison Innovation Foundation. I was recently awarded The Founders Medal by my Alma Mater, Bergen Catholic. I also serve as a mentor to many local students, providing career counseling, helping to place them in summer internships, and upon college graduation, assist them in gaining full-time employment.
Some of my favorite things:
Book: Rays of the Dawn by Dr. Thurman Fleet
Movie: The Shawshank Redemption
Quote: “Play like a champion!”
Meal: Halibut
Restaurant: Tie between Undici and Birravino
City: Chicago
Person: The original sweetness, my wife Iwona
